China’s top diplomat, Wang Yi, has called on Japan to address what Beijing perceives as inappropriate remarks and actions by Japanese leaders regarding Taiwan. This appeal was made during a meeting in Beijing with Takeshi Iwaya, president of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade.
Wang emphasized the need for Japan to take a more objective and rational stance toward China, urging Tokyo to handle historical issues with care. He underscored the importance of maintaining the political foundation of China-Japan relations and respecting historical lessons. Wang further advised Japan to commit to peaceful development and avoid actions that could exacerbate bilateral tensions.
In response, Iwaya acknowledged the concerns surrounding the current state of Japan-China relations. He assured that his organization would continue to promote dialogue and support efforts aimed at fostering stable bilateral ties.
