During a key visit by Nikolai Patrushev, Russian Presidential Aide and Chairman of Russia’s Maritime Board, China has signaled its intent to bolster strategic communication and enhance practical cooperation with Russia. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized that the visit presents an opportunity to deepen bilateral relations and promote further collaboration. The visit, which marks Patrushev’s first in his role as Chairman of Russia’s Maritime Board, includes meetings with high-ranking Chinese officials, including Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs. These discussions are expected to focus on enhancing bilateral relations, with a particular emphasis on maritime cooperation.
