As Africa continues to grapple with various security challenges, China has stepped forward to bolster its collaboration with the continent, aiming to enhance regional stability and economic growth. Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun emphasized this commitment on Thursday during the 4th China-Africa Peace and Security Forum held in Beijing.
Addressing delegates from the African Union and representatives from 41 African nations, Dong highlighted the deep-rooted defense ties shared between China and Africa. He underscored that these relationships are built on mutual support and common security objectives, contributing to both regional peace and global stability.
China’s defense minister called for continued cooperation based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit. He outlined China’s readiness to strengthen strategic coordination with African countries, expand defense exchanges, and deepen maritime security cooperation. The emphasis was also placed on exploring emerging fields in security and defense to yield more practical results from existing partnerships.
