Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) has commenced mass production of its 100 V integrated gallium nitride (GaN) power-stage integrated circuit (IC) family, featuring the EPC23108, EPC23109, EPC23110, and EPC23111 models. These high-performance motion-control solutions are crafted to enhance power density and efficiency while simplifying system design by integrating high-side and low-side eGaN® field-effect transistors (FETs), gate drivers, and level-shifting circuitry into compact, thermally optimized QFN packages. Operating up to 100 V with current ratings of 35 A and 20 A depending on the model, these devices also offer features like fast fault shutdown and safe gate control during power-loss conditions, as well as a continuous 100% duty-cycle operation. Additionally, single-input pulse-width modulation (PWM) options are provided for multi-axis motor-control applications.

EPC is providing three-phase brushless direct current (BLDC) motor-drive evaluation boards—EPC91128, EPC91129, EPC91130, and EPC91131—built around the new power-stage ICs. These platforms incorporate essential components such as gate drivers, current and voltage sensing, housekeeping power supplies, temperature monitoring, and protection functions. Available through EPC’s global distribution network, including Digi-Key and Mouser, these products serve applications in humanoid robots, drones, industrial motor drives, medical equipment, synchronous rectification, and high-density DC-DC converters.

The pricing structure for these innovative devices includes the EPC23108 and EPC23109 at $3.70 each, while the EPC23110 and EPC23111 are priced at $2.47 each, based on quantities of 3,000 units. The evaluation boards EPC91128 and EPC91129 are available for $640 each, whereas EPC91130 and EPC91131 are priced at $630 each. Complementing the release, EPC is publishing a technical white paper in both English and Chinese, detailing the architecture, design considerations, and evaluation platforms associated with the new integrated GaN power-stage ICs.

Founded in 2007, Efficient Power Conversion specializes in the development of enhancement-mode gallium nitride (eGaN®) power devices and integrated circuits. The company focuses on providing GaN-based power solutions across various applications, including DC-DC converters, lidar, motor drives, robotics, drones, and satellite systems. EPC continues to lead in the semiconductor and power electronics industry with its cutting-edge technology and products.
